Created by Olszewski for his Women's Collection produced by Olszewski Studios
Returning to a theme is one of the great pleasures of an artist. It is, like visiting an old friend. "American Beauty" has its roots in the piece "Lady with a Fan" which Olszewski carved in 1979. Visit www.olszewskistudios.com for more information. The title "American Beauty" derives from the floral trim on the lady's dress and also from the rose in her hand, a rose picked fresh from her own sunlit garden. In the past I have worked on the theme of "Women" trying to create works that define theri beauty and diversity. Of these, "American Beauty" has been the most challenging and in the future collectors can expect that floral patterns and hollow cast pieces will continue to be rare. Size of this figurine is 1". It is a limited edition of 750 figurines. 100 additional artist proofs were sold for $450.00.
