Americana Series "Carrousel Ride"

Near Olszewski's hometown in Pennsylvania (Birdville), there was a town park (Kennywood) that had a real carrousel ride. This sculpture is dedicated to the memory of good times years ago when we (my brother and I) would visit with the family to Kennywood. Mom would prepare ahead of time City Chickens, potatoe salad, and wonderful baked goods. The two children represent Olszewski's own son (David) and daughter (Meredith). How characteristic of children as they pass by to wave at their parents. The figurine "Carrousel Days" are similar in overall appearnace but much different in message and in many details with the sculpture.
