When we were growing up in a rural town near Pittsburgh (Birdville), one of our favorite past times was sled riding. Our sleds were the best we could afford at the time and we kept them clean and in good shape. I was delighted when bob created this piece as it depicts my little brother and on his lap is our dog "Gay" which was a dachsund. Gay's pedigree name was "Hanz Hannah Gay" and our Dad purchased him from our Uncle Walter "Shorty" Olszewski. Snow Holiday was a special day as the schools closed allowing us to enjoy the fun of sled riding. The piece was first issued in 1985 at the price of $75.00 and carried the design mark of 635-P. Our stock includes 3 pieces: (2) signed, and (2) unsigned.
