Created by Olszewski for his Historical Series produced by Goebel Miniatures
This is an interpretation in miniature of a rooster originally produced in porcelain by the Minton China Company in England around 1870. Olszewski carved this handsome work of art from a color picture in a book he found in a porcelain museum in Toronto, Canada. He chose this sculpture as he was impressed with its striking color, he had never before carved a piece from England, and he wanted an exact 12:1 scale reproduction for the doll house enthusiast. Minton Rooster was issued only in 1988 at the price of $85.00. It carries the design mark of 606-P.
